on Olympic boycott

It has been confirmed that Gordon Brown will not be attending the opening ceremony of this summers Olympic Games in China. Apparently he had no intention to, he simply wanted to make us all think he was (see speech with M. Sarkozy) and then surprise us all by (and I use that famous media catch phrase) doing a U-turn. Diary clash anyone?

Maybe he'll show up รก la Lisbon Treaty and have his own private opening ceremony.

When Parliament returns from recess he will also announce that he will not be removing the 10p base rate and had no intention to.

Or not.
